Tahini Dressing – Salad Perfection

Hi Folks!  I am back to share a salad dressing that is AMAZING and my favorite dressing in the whole wide world. I first had this dressing at Inn Season Vegetarian Cafe in Detroit, MI a few years ago.  Inn Season is also one of my favorite restaurants in the whole wide world – if you are ever in the area – you MUST go.

If you make this dressing – you’ll see why I am so enthusiastic about it. The taste is incredible, makes any type of raw vegetable extremely satisfying and it has so many healthy all star ingredients – One of which is Apple Cider Vinegar. This powerhouse vinegar has been used for centuries as a natural remedy to cure allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout.

Additionally, apple cider vinegar can burn some serious booty. It is widely used for weight control, it helps break down fat in the body and can boost your metabolism. It lowers glucose levels – reducing insulin spikes that can lead to weight gain. If you have never tried it in a salad dressing – start today! Remember to buy the good stuff – Bragg’s makes a great version that is organic, raw and unfiltered. The pasteurized version doesn’t have the same qualities so you will be missing out if you don’t buy the right kind.

This recipe makes A LOT of dressing – a huge big bowl that you can use throughout the week. It works well as a dip for chopped veggies too!  Yum.  It would be perfect to dress your greens this holiday season for friend and family gatherings!  Enjoy!

  1. Hi, Sounds great! Do you happen to know the fat, carbs, calorie, protein, etc?

    Thank you!

  2. I saw this recipe & printed it out. I like Tahini & now have a great dressing to make ,
instead of just using it for Hummus..

  3. I have made this recipe and it’s delish! But, I have a silly question for you…..
You have such great appliances including the Norwalk juicer, I wonder why you don’t own a Vitamix?
Inquiring Vitamix enthusiast wants to know 🙂
    Have a great day!

  4. Made this tonight…didn’t have raw sesame seeds but used hemp hearts…It came out wonderful!! Thanks!!

  5. This is delicious. I love it as a veggie dip. A a salad dressing, I think I need to add more water and or vinegar or some combination thereof because it came out quite thick from my wonderful vitamix blender. Maybe a less powerful blender would have different results. In any case this is a keeper recipe. Thanks for sharing it.

  6. This is the best tahini dressing recipe! My gosh, I can eat it with a spoon! This dressing is so much better than the store bought brands. It’s full of flavor but doesn’t have the sour bite that bottled tahini dressings can have. I always assumed that the bite came from the vinegar but I wonder if it’s from citric acid or some other preservative? Because, this version has vinegar and lemon, but it’s smooth – not overly sour. A total winner!

    1. I love this dressing! Took a jar as a party gift- the hostess loved it and I shared this site. I have adjusted the ingredients to what I have~ limes, fresh herbs, green onion, roasted garlic~ it always makes a delicious dressing!

  7. Very good dressing, glad I made it. It’s like liquid falafel with zing. Great on salads or for dipping veggies into.

  8. I tried this, it’s so delicious!!! I didn’t have any salt so I improvised with a 1/4 Tsp vegemite (what can I say, I’m Australian) 🙂 its so good I’m eating it as a spread too!

  9. I have to agree that this is perfection!!! I tried to give it 5 stars but it wouldn’t take the 5th. I would have given 10 stars if I could.

  10. Hey Vani, Thanks for all the great recipes and articles. I really like your site here. I am completely appalled by these nut cases that are criticizing you acting like you made up cancer and diabetes just to scare folks. I just wanted to say that there is no way that you owe any of these psychopaths any responses to such outright ignorance…. I mean anyone that is going to believe them with their fake health websites and all is probably in the boat with them and there’s not a lot you can do for them ya know. I have been reading and learning about all these things your speaking out about for the last 10 years at least and I follow many blogs that are on the same page as you yet they aren’t being attached this way that you are. My husband says you must have stole someone’s boyfriend or something because that is the level of. elementary behavior that I am seeing and hearing. If you believe God and follow scripture as I do, it is perfectly obvious what is going on here. There are people that think themselves high and wise but the Lord is bringing them low and showing them as the fools that they are. They trust in their own understanding and seek after all the lusts of the flesh. Keep seeking truth and give God the glory! As all is the Lord’s. Leave the wrath for God. Scripture tells us that the Lord is coming to deal with those that are destroying the earth. You see people have to really want truth and seek it to gain in it. The people that taunt you love the lies they live in, the truth is to hard for them. Like the good Lord said forgive them as they know not what they do. When you forgive them truly and pray in honesty in love for their souls then you are released from the heaviness that the unforgiveness brings and you can move on to brighter days;) peace in truth friend.

  11. This looks heavenly! I just read something about the new owners of Braggs have teemed up with Bill Gates, and are using his apples, which are raised with chemicals. Do you know if there’s any truth in this rumor?
