It’s the Weekend – Woot! Woot!

Happy Happy Weekend Everyone!!! Can you tell I’m excited!?!

Before I go plop my booty on the couch for the rest of the evening, I wanted to share my eats today…

Today started with hot water with lemon and cayenne – Habit #1 (Who’s doing this too?! – Have you adopted this habit yet?)

Followed by 2 heaping tablespoons of Vitamineral Greens superfood powder… Did you know this serving size has 10 grams of protein for only 50 calories! And it’s all plant based!  Amazing, huh?

I did an energizing hour of cardio before work and made this kale smoothie, which I enjoyed at my desk…..

I had a lunch date with my consulting firm at Capital Grille today.  The bread basket is usually not tempting at all for me. But today, was no holds bar.  I ate that whole cracker looking flat bread thing and it was damn good. I haven’t had white flour in a really long time.

I ordered a field green salad with no cheese and dressing on the side.  Did I like it?  Just compare this picture to the salads I’ve been showing you all week….and you can guess my answer to that!

Staring at the different time zone clocks waiting for our entree to come…Service wasn’t that great today.  It’s a shame, because this place is the most expensive lunch in town! Good thing I wasn’t paying.

For lunch – I ordered half of the Seared Sesame Tuna – and it was still GIANT.  It’s been about a week and half since I had any fish, so I thought this was a good option today.  It was very tasty, but I still only ate half and left feeling really guilty for not eating all of it.  I ordered a double order of asparagus in lieu of the white gingered rice. I ate all of that, however.

To celebrate starting my new project – We ordered the cookie platter for dessert.  They make cookies every day in house from scratch (But then I questioned the spiral “processed” looking cookies – and found out those came from a box, but everything else was fresh made…mmm hmm)

I tried them all – just a bite of each…probably enough to put me in an afternoon coma.  Luckily, the green tea I had with them perked me up to get through 3 hours straight of back to back meetings back at work.

After work – I ran like the speed of light to my car to go straight to Yoga One.  I really needed some Yoga loving tonight to kick off the weekend right – I hadn’t been all week long and it was just want I needed.  We did 106 frog leaps. Yep. 106.  That’s $hit is crazy.  Thank You Michelle.

For dinner, I had a bowl of cucumbers and these radishes for an appetizer…. I used to hate radishes, until my mom re-introduced them to me again and now I can’t get enough.

For the main course tonight – We had curried sweet potato, kale and green lentil soup. So satisfying and warming, especially during this cold rainy night. (Recipe coming soon!) We had some Mary’s Gone Sticks and Twigs on the side to add a little crunchy crunch.

As I am finishing up this post, I am gnawing down on some frozen dough left over from the Forever Cookies I made earlier in the week. Eating them right out of the freezer is addictive I tell ya – Addictive!

Doing anything fun this weekend?

Love you guys!

  1. I love your blog 🙂 I think you’ve found a really great balance between being healthy, but still enjoying food and satisfying indulgences. You’ve been such an inspiration that I’ve even started blogging myself and sharing a lot of what I’ve learned with friends and family. Keep up the good work!

  2. Love your posts as always! I need to know where you buy your green drink? I’m pregnant so getting my quota of protein has been challenging when not wanting to eat lots of meat.
One thing about your lunch at CG that amazed me is your self control! Yes it is so difficult eating the correct portion especially in front of business partners who might be looking at you funny. Good for you for still enjoying the food but limiting yourself…that is inspiring in itself.
I started habit #1 but cayenne has been hard for me some am due to preg and heartburn. I do add a tiny bit of agave or honey to help ease the intense flavor. I’m not diligent about doing this, plan to once I have the baby.

    1. Hi Christine! First off congratulations on your pregnancy! That is beautiful news! I get all my green powders on the net because it is cheaper than buying them in the store – you can order them from my food babe shop. You also can find them at Home Healthy Market on South Blvd – they have both. If you are looking for one that has the most protein – go for Vitamineral Greens. That stuff is amazing – I love it. It can be strong on the taste buds initially – but I think you’ll get used to it. The lemon water is great by itself too…if you can handle it. Eating with business partners is always a fun challenge – especially when they choose a place that I wouldn’t normally choose myself 🙂 If I had it my way – all my business meetings would be at Luna’s! Great hearing from you!

  3. Surviving a serious injury & love new ways to incorporate healthy ideas in to my busy hectic schedule….Thank you for your positive energy & healthy ideas! Xx~JazzyCleveland923
