Almost Fat Tuesday

Good Evening!  While I am anxiously awaiting my comedy debut on TV tonight – I thought I would blog really quick about what happened today….

Started the morning with Habit #1 and a big cup of green tea.  I also had my Green Vibrance Powder before tackling a session of Insanity in the gym…

It was quite insane – I think I did a total of 100 pushups today in between all the squat jacks and burpees and such… I’ve really lost my motivation to work out lately – I need to figure out something fast before I  go crazy!  I tell myself everyday – I am going to come up with a new routine, but for some reason I don’t.

I followed up the workout by drinking a huge kale smoothie with lots of strawberries, chia seeds and protein powder.

I had the day off so I quickly showered and headed out to run errands.  I finally picked up my marriage license from the register of deeds – Hilarious, I know – It’s been almost 6 years – whoops.  Truth be told, the only reason I needed it was because of some new insurance law… If it hadn’t been for this new law, my marriage license would of probably never crossed my mind in a million years!

On the way back home, I picked up some goodies from Berrybrook Farms – I got the bean burrito for my husband and I had the taco salad sans cheese… added avocado instead – DELICIOUS.  I love this salad – the hot black beans and salsa means you don’t need to add any additional dressing, it’s really perfect.  I also had a cup of their soup of the day – Lima Bean Succotash…

In the afternoon, before I started to clean out my closet – I nervously ate a few bowls of this organic popcorn from Trader Joe’s to procrasinate…. I discovered this at my friend Amy’s House a few weeks ago and had to pick me up a bag…

After finally cleaning the clothes from the floor of my closet… I headed over to Fedex Kinkos… I finally got my heart rate monitor all packed up and ready to send in for repairs.  If I’m going to start a new routine at the gym, I am going to need some major motivation – in the form of accurate heart rate and calorie count!

While at Kinkos – I couldn’t help but realize all the poor choices for food available.  I seriously, wouldn’t buy one single thing in this whole display.  Not even the trail mix – it’s full of artificial colors and preservatives. Yuck. This despicable practice of preying on people’s impulse buys won’t fool me!

Back at home – I did a quick 15 mins of Pilates….stretching a night is something that I’ve made a habit of lately and I am totally noticing major changes in my flexibility – even just 15 mins does wonders.

I started dinner with a simple arugula salad tossed with balsamic vinegar mixed with honey…

Then ate the rest of the kale chips I purchased from HHM earlier in the week – Have you had these yet?  They are to die for!  I need to make these at home – so I can share the recipe…

For the main course – I made these veggie burgers. I ate two!  One with organic ketchup and pickles and one with a little organic sour cream…. I can’t decide which way I liked better…. I have several left over – a couple already in the freezer for emergencies.

For a sweet snack after dinner – I had some ginger tea and a mixture of gojis, cashews and mini chocolate chips.  This bowl is not representative of my portion – I probably went back to the cabinet about 3 times.  Just being honest!

So tomorrow is Fat Tuesday…. Every year I give something up for Lent… Last year I gave up watching TV…. (and that’s when Food Babe was finally born!)  I can’t believe I’m actually going to be on TV tonight… Ooooo the irony!

I have no clue what I am giving up this year… Maybe I could add in something? Or do something new everyday?  Any ideas for me?  I only have 24 hours to figure it out – Help!

Oh and I won’t give up cake, cause you know what? I’m a spring baby!  I have lots of cake on my birthday every year – There’s no way I am going to give that up!

Sleep Tight… or stay up to watch me on Time Warner Channel 21 ok?

    1. Garden of Life Raw Vanilla is my current protein of choice. I also have liked Jay Robb Whey and Sun Warrior. Good Luck!
