A Lively Skype Debate & Latest Eats

A few weeks ago Skype asked me to participate in a “Global Live Debate” with some fellow international and organic food experts.

The panelists included May Chong of Slow Food Kitchen, Sarina Bland of Trini Gourmet, and (surprisingly not coordinated) my friend, Max Goldberg of Living Maxwell along with host Will Leigh, distinguished chef at Vinoteca.

I had a great time filming this video (please note my enthusiasm – twirling in my chair). I loved the engaging conversation with May, Trini, Max and Will and sharing what I like to make for dinner parties, why I love local food and a supplement I take religiously everyday. It took about 3 hours to film, but lucky for you it’s wonderfully edited down to 7 mins! I hope you enjoy it.

If you’d like to know what supplement I spoke about – you can find it here.

On another note, I got an interesting facebook message this week from Ana – “You post tons of articles with things we shouldn’t eat – how about some more with delicious things we CAN eat!? :)” I told Ana that I better get busy in the kitchen.

Here’s a look at some of things I did eat (and you can too!) this past week…. Have a great weekend!

Lots of juicing this week – almost everyday to make up for last weekend when I didn’t have any.
Hari Shake in full force one morning.
Wheatgrass shots from jamba juice – one of the only things I will get from there.
OMG this was so good. Went to Pure Pizza and got sprouted grain crust with all the vegetable toppings (no cheese) but added their amazing pesto sauce to the top – a great recommendation from Scott.
Before a fun get together with Lisa, My husband and I stopped off at one of our favorite splurge restaurants – Good Food on Montford. I always get the arugula salad, dressing on the side. The cherries on it are amazing.
My husband ordered the Korean Beef (which I don’t eat), but the chef was super kind to bring me a side of the kimchi on top – it was to die for!
This is where the “splurge” happened – We tried the Macadamia Nut Pie with their banana ice cream – it was so sinful and probably a billion calories, but we loved every bit of it!
Getting some Vitamin D.
Deadly & Amazing combo – Hot Yoga at Yoga One on Tuesday night with Rian Harris teaching (OMG – it was so hard but good!) plus take out juice and salads from Fern. I see myself doing that more often, considering Fern is on the way home.
New goji berry granola recipe I am perfecting and will be releasing soon.
The best “Summer After Work Out” smoothie ever, I will be sharing that too.
Very easy dinner: cauliflower, garbanzo beans and tomato sauce sprinkled with red pepper flakes – in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20-25 mins.
Shots! Shots! Shots! Kale, cucumber and lemon.
A few times for lunch this week – I had collard wraps with tahini dressing, pickles, avocado, carrots and sprouts – one of my favorite quick ways to eat raw veggies.
