Environmentally Friendly Gifts by U-Konserve (Exclusive Discount)

When I was going into the office everyday, I used to lug a really heavy bag of glass containers that held my lunch and snacks (because I hate plastic!). Oh how I wish I would have known about this awesome company back then!

For a limited time, U-Konserve is offering the #FoodBabeArmy 10% off their entire site with code “FOODBABE”

I discovered U-Konserve recently at Expo East Natural Products Show where I got to touch, view (and take a couple of samples home). They make the most wonderful environmentally friendly gifts – especially for Mother’s Day coming up!

My favorite products are the lunch kits, produce bags (eliminating the need for all those bags at grocery store visit after visit!), stainless steel insulated coffee cups/food containers, and modern recycled cotton napkins. But the stainless steel containers take the cake, because they are light, easy to carry and leak proof. I just throw one in my purse when I’m on the go and don’t have to worry about a thing.

By purchasing and using U-Konserve you can:

  • Reduce Waste by eliminating disposable food packaging from our landfills and oceans
  • Save Money by reducing single-use packaging, and packaged foods
  • Eat Healthier by packing homemade, non-packaged foods
  • Store Safer by packing food in non-leaching, non-toxic containers (Containers are tested by independent labs to meet strict safety standards, all of our products are free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead.)
  • Promote Sustainability by giving gifts that send the message of reuse (many of their products are made with recycled material – even recycled cotton!)

Here’s the link to their store, hope you enjoy the 10% off with code: FOODBABE (And free shipping with orders over $50)

Happy Shopping!

P.S. If there is a product out there you’d like a discount on, let me know in the comments and I’ll get the Food Babe Team on it!

  1. I would love a discount on Lifefactory bottles and Klean Kanteen for my kids 🙂 Thanks so much!

  2. Aloha, the products look great, but they are made in China. They claim “responsibly” but how can you be sure. I think if they want to claim to be environmentally friendly they would have the products made in the US. US steel is easy to have made.

    1. Couldn’t have said it better 🙂
There is a great company called Preserve, made in USA plates/bowls/etc made from recycled plastic. Preserve dot com. I just ordered salad bowls and they’re great! Recycled green mass in USA products are out there if you look.

      1. Plastic in the USA is not all BPA free…plastic is not as stable as glass, it can always leach something into your food, especially if there are sauces with oil, lemon etc etc

    1. I wanted to know about that as well. The only reason i opt for chunky heavy and almost always bigger than needed glass lunch boxes is cuz i can heat food without worrying about heating glass. Steel cannot be heated and this doesnt help the case of ppl who want to eat their food hot.

      1. I totally agree! I was disappointed to see they are not made in the USA. I’m going to check out the other sites for products made in America.

  3. Would like to purchase the Bodum glasses and storage containers. We are wondering if there are any deals running/discounts. Thank you so much!

  4. Your blogs mention BPA and its issues.

BUT did you know when BPA became a public controversy and many companies stopped using it in their plastics, container liners, packaging, etc that the reformulated plastics they are now using are even more estrogenic than the prior BPA versions?!

An independent lab, CertiChem, studied these new BPA-free plastics (all recycle #s) in very wide use and found them to have more estrogenic activity than BPA! They published a journal article with all results. It barely made press before the lab was sued by the plastics industry, resulting in a gag order on them. This is how the plastics and food industry has responded to the problem! So now we see “BPA-free” on packaging. That may be true, the health aspect is pure PR and coverup.

The journal article, study and its appendices, and a few periodical articles can be found on line, if you are a good researcher. This info deserves widespread attention.
