Food Babe's "Starbucks" Peppermint Mocha

  • 2 cups dairy or non-dairy milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup, more as desired
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong coffee
  1. In a small pot, add all of the ingredients except the coffee and peppermint extract. Heat until warmed but not boiling, stirring to combine. Take off the heat and stir in the peppermint extract.
  2. Add one shot espresso or ¼ cup strong coffee to two mugs. Pour 8 ounces of the milk mixture on top and stir to combine. Top with whip cream and shaved dark chocolate, if desired.
**Choose all organic ingredients if possible**

If you like less of a peppermint taste then only use ½ teaspoon, adding more once tasted.
