Breaking News: Anheuser-Busch Agrees To Post Ingredients Online

Story Developing…

Within 24 hours our petition has received over 43k signatures and gained mainstream media exposure. Social media has been taken by a storm of concerned citizens asking the beer companies Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors to publish their ingredients online.

I just received an email, a phone call and tweet from Anheuser-Busch. I spoke with their Vice President of Communications, Terry Vogt, this afternoon and they are agreeing to post all ingredients online in the coming days, but do not have a concrete timeline. I am thrilled with Anheuser-Busch’s quick response and can’t wait to see the ingredients of all of their beers online.

It’s pretty amazing that making your voice heard can change the policies of a multi-billion dollar company overnight.

Thank you #FoodBabeArmy. You an incredible force to be reckoned with.

MillerCoors needs to step up to the plate, post their ingredients, and so should all other beer companies for that matter! Please continue to sign and share the petition – Let’s end all #MysteryBeer together!

See letter from Anheuser-Busch to us today:

On behalf of our CEO and our entire Anheuser-Busch family, I would like to invite you and your husband to visit our flagship St. Louis brewery to show both of you how our beers are made and the ingredients we use. Our brewmasters take great pride in making our beers to the highest standards of quality and consistency.

As I believe you are already aware, we provide significant information about our beers and their nutritional content through both our consumer hotline (1-800-DIAL-BUD) and our global consumer-information website, which we have expanded over the years.  This information exceeds what is required of alcohol producers and is beyond what many other beer, wine and hard liquor producers provide.

However, as American consumer needs evolve, we want to meet their expectations.  Therefore, we are working to list our beer ingredients on our website, just as you would see for other food and non-alcohol beverage producers.  We are beginning immediately, having incorporated this information earlier today for our flagship brands Budweiser and Bud Light, and will be listing this for our other brands in the coming days.

Please let me know when there is a convenient time for you and your husband to visit us in St. Louis.  I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Vice President, Communications

Canadians don’t drink Bud Light!! (except for a few piss-stupid teenagers who just buy the cheapest beer available.)

Molson is better, but it’s still chemical.

And you forgot to mention [or was I distracted?] the important difference between pasteurized and unpasteurized beer. People have no idea what real beer is until they drink it fresh from the secondary fermentation keg, unpasteurized.

Traditionally, in Slovakia, all pubs would brew their own beer onsite, always with three varieties per pub – amber, red, and black. Many pubs still do.

Live beer is bioactive, therefore healthy.

Also, beer can be used to potentiate medicinal herbs. Before the German Purity Law, European beers would have many different herbs. But the Catholics started using henbane, which made them go crazy for three days, so the Protestants implemented their purity law ensuring that only the sedative hops would be used in beer.

See “Healing and medicinal beers of the world” (approximate title). For medicinal and bioactive benefits, strong beer is not necessary. 1 or 2% beer is just great. After one week it is like sweet ginger ale with lots of bioactive energy. Leave it longer and the alcohol increases while the live yeast dies off.

I think it is important for them to disclose the fact of using GMO grains. Everybody nowadays seems to have a gluten allergy or intolerance. This is not from the actual gluten but from the wheat which is now pretty much all GMO.

All mass produced wheat has had its molecular structure altered. Scientists figured out many years ago that by altering the structure of the wheat, they could produce more crops without requiring more land. Unfortunately most of the nutrients in the original wheat are no longer present in the modified version.

Really what percentage of malt? What percentage of corn? Where was the corn manufactured? We’re chemicals used? What type of corn is used? GMO or standard? What type of fertilizer was used? (If any, natural or chemical form?)

Exactly which processing agents are you using? What are the brand names and who are the makers of that product?
Exactly what chemicals are sprayed on the rice/corn? Who are the makers of that product, and who are they’re subsidiaries?

Get back to your Budweiser job you clown.

  6. Doc (to Patrick)

    GMO corn not toxic??
Really then why is scientific testing not allowed? And when a real scientist deems it unworthy then his career is destroyed by powerful lobbyists? I’m sure you think the reason many countries ban GMOs is just because they are paranoid. NO CHEMICAL FOOD No genetically modified foods please!!!

  7. Doc (to smcd)

Beer used to be healthy because the water is filtered so many times, but not in America. No coloring no additives, no preservatives. No carbonation. No added sugars, unless from cane, or beat, no GMO food used. NO mysterious clear liquid!! No big bag of white powder!! Is flour naturally white?? Nope it’s bleached white by using chemicals!! Is sugar naturally white? Nope same answer!!

  8. Doc (to smcd)

Yep! Simple don’t use them, and we are happy why is it so hard for you to understand? Here’s a test try making a beer with no processing agents, and non bleached ingredients, and non syrup ingredients and non GMO ingredients. Then advertise no processing agents used. Then sell that beer. See what happens see what organic lovers will back you. That is true power, not the lies you perpetuate.

  9. Doc (to Patrick)

It’s not illegal cuz you lobbyists pay off the FDA the worst organization for health standards in the world! Stop treating people like they’re stupid!

  10. David (to Pete)

Could you supply the scientific references to support your claim about the link between gluten allergy and GMO?

  11. Patrick (to Doc)

Scientific testing is not allowed? I worked at the experimental arm of a public agricultural college in the early 2000s. It is the Monsantos, Dow AgroSciences, Aventis’, Duponts, Syngentas, and Bayer CropSciences of the world that came to our institutions to do exactly that- scientific testing. Research stations throughout our states crow these crops, test them extensively and explicitly reserve the right to publish their results- our constituents are our farmers. Scientific testing is done. Do some research.

FDA is asleep at the wheel allowing to much chemicals in our food! I don’t want to eat chemicals, you can.

  13. Barry Pulley (to Hypatia)

I am absolutely clueless as to what all of those chemicals are you listed. I’m not a bio-chemist as my father is. But unless those chemicals are naturally occurring in organic foods, I have no interest in having them in my food. I believe that it’s really difficult to process foods and have them remain healthy for our bodies. In fact, I stay away from packaged foods as much as I can. As far as glyphosate is concerned, it’s at least partly responsible for killing the bees, it’s mostly responsible for killing the soil, and it is definitely killing all other living things – except for seeds engineered to survive it.

It seems to me that Monsanto is the devil itself and we need to stop supporting him!
