Mmmm…Cookies

Good Evening!

Here’s my a short recap of my Monday eats…What did you have?

Started the day with Habit #1, followed by some Vitamineral Greens and a kick a$$ kettlebell workout.  My workout had a little extra Ooomph thanks to new music on my iPod – my heart rate monitor is still not working.  ARGH.

I drank about 20 ounces of freshly pressed green juice – broccoli stems included!  The broccoli made this juice super strong – but I’m tough, I can drink any juice now! Ohhhh yeah.

After the juice about half and hour later, I drank some protein powder mixed with chia seeds.  I usually soak my chia seeds for at least 10 minutes before drinking them (in case you were wondering….)

I had a lunch date at Luna’s Living Kitchen with one of my favorite people – Meredith Campbell (aka the best fitness instructor EVER)!  If you haven’t taken one of her classes at the Y yet – find her schedule now and take her class. Everything she teaches is with pure enthusiasm and spunk – you’ll never feel like you are working out with Meredith in the room. SHE IS A ROCK STAR, I tell ya. Oh and she’s starting a blog.  I. Cannot. Wait.

We shared an appetizer of three different kinds of hummus – Lemon Parsley, Chipotle, and Curry. It was paired with cranberry walnut bread (MY FAVORITE PART), and some raw veggies.

For my main course, I had my all time favorite – The Skinny Witch – a veggie burger made with quinoa and kamut, topped with local pickles, and wrapped in a collard leaf. The pickles make this so freaking good.  I’ve started to include pickles in my collard wraps at home that I make with my beet sweetened hummus – Try it, and you’ll never want it any other way!

At home between errands – I had a big bowl of candy aka figs stuffed with walnuts.

Later, I enjoyed an acupuncture treatment…

For dinner and dessert – it was a repeat of yesterday plus a big side of raw broccoli…

To end the night – I made 2 Hari Shakes …. (I drank one at work today) – It’s nice starting the day and ending the day with Habit #4.

I’m off to eat a bunch of Pizza & Cookies…You probably think I’m lying, but I’m not.

Hasta La Vista Baby,

Food Babe

  1. Food Babe: I really admire your healthful eating, and it’s inspiring to read your blog posts. Based on your advice, I just recently started drinking Vibrant Heath’s Green Vibrance every day and am liking it so far. The only question I have is (and I’m very much an amateur nutritionist!): Do you ever worry about actually getting too much of a good thing, so to speak? I do know there are certain vitamins and nutrients that people can overdose on — iron, for one. Just wondering if you pay attention to the amounts of certain nutrients that you eat/drink — and what advice you would have in that regard? Thanks again for your inspiration. And also, I have to say that Luna’s is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in town!

    1. Thank you Bryan. As long as you rotate your greens, it would be very very very difficult to OD on nutrients. Parsley is one green to use in moderation, because it could be harmful to the kidneys. You’d have to drink over a cup of concentrated parsley juice to do this. Also too much beet juice causes flu like symptoms in some people because it cleanses the blood. This is just a symptom of detoxification and should correct itself overtime. I love Green Vibrance, but I also use Vitamineral Greens – I switch back and forth between the two everyday. If you have any more specific questions about anything you are eating – feel free to holla!

      1. Thanks so much for the info in regards to parsley, Vani. I add this to my green smoothie almost every day (if I have any in the fridge). I add about four to five stems – I don’t think it is a cup but nevertheless.

Your meal at Luna’s is basically what I order every time I go…I LOVE the skinny witch and hummus (that cranberry bread is the business). Have you tried the Lemon bites => my new favorite snack.

I am loving your website and I am telling my friends to check out this website and I am sharing your website posts on my FB page – I hope you don’t mind.

        Peace, love and light!

  2. Hey! I was wondering which grocery store you purchase the figs from? Thanks for the info! I enjoy the Everyday Eats posts:)

    1. Faith – I got them from Earth Fare – They are located near the bulk section in a white bag. I’m out of them now and craving some! Good Luck Faith!

  3. Hi Foodbabe. Your cookies are too addictive! It’s mid week and I made a second batch! It didn’t come come from the freezer either as I took your advice and ate it straight from the freezer! Yum! This batch I toned the chocolate down and only added tiny bit. My last batch I used one block of Green & Black 85% Dark Chocolate which was naughty considering I ate all of the cookies in 3 days! :0

    1. Haha! Enjoy them Sally! Don’t be so hard on yourself. There’s nothing wrong with a little healthy indulgence 🙂
