The Latest Kraft Petition TV Coverage: Dr. Oz, CNN, Fox News, NBC, and Good Morning America

Since Kraft did not show up to The Dr. Oz Show, we’ve contacted Kraft directly via email (now twice) and left a voicemail. We received an automatic reply that the head of the Mac & Cheese division is out of the office. This probably isn’t the best time for her to be out, don’t you think?

We are patiently awaiting a response… until then, we plan to get this message out as much as possible.

I hope you enjoy the media clips below – 3 of them are from the last 24 hours. All of these interviews with Lisa and me are so different – I’d love to know which one you liked the best. See you in the comments!

XOXO,
Food Babe

  1. Awesome work! Thank you for being our voice!! We are voting with my grocery store choices to further the cause!!

    1. This is awesome – Thank you Tina… The more we hit Kraft where it hurts – the more chance they will respond!

    2. Maybe if they don’t respond quickly enough to the petition, how about a boycott of Kraft products? The only thing they care about is profits, let’s hit them where it hurts!

      1. I was going to suggest this very same thing. Great idea Lori. There are a couple of other brands out there that don’t use food dye and taste better anyway and of course there’s always homemade. Who needs Kraft anyhow!

      1. Yes, many thanks to you and Lisa for all of your efforts!! Outstanding job.

  2. Awesome!!! You two did fantastic in these interviews. This is only the beginning. How exciting!

  3. Great job gals!! So proud of the all the work you’ve done up to this point! I pray that you both continue the fight against the poisons in our foods and can get companies like Kraft to lead the way to better health for everyone in us not just those who are aware enough to read labels.

Regarding the interviews: Great job! I know it’s sometime hard to get a word in when the commentator is talking over you, but the message about exposure to cancer also needs to be emphasized.

Also, I am VERY disappointed in NBC’s Nightly News coverage (3/8/13) of your story. The really didn’t give the story the urgency it deserves. …makes me wonder who’s pocket Kraft is in!!??

  4. where is the fox news clip?
great job girls!! it feels like a proud mama moment since i have been following both of you for such a long time. Nice to see you girls getting the attention u deserve

  5. I honestly don’t know how you do it, besides Dr. Oz show, I would have been banging my head into the wall with all the questions and comments by these “reporters / anchors”.

  6. Love the work you do, I come into contact with quite a few people people and try to spread awareness of GMO’s, dyes, preservatives, and everything else that adversely affects our health. Its a relief to finally have this site to direct people to, it is an excellent place to start on the road to becoming healthier.

  7. Did you read where the powers that be are now going after Dr.Oz, just like the beef industry did to Oprah? The food industry must have thousands of bloggers out there on websites to immediately contradict anything bad which is said on any site regarding their ‘food’ product.

  8. You ladies are both so inspiring! It’s not easy to take on a large, powerful food company and garner attention from large media outlets. THANK YOU for tackling such an important topic and bringing more awareness to ingredients in our food that do not belong there! Keep up your amazing work!!!

  9. You guys are doing great! I don’t believe Kraft will be able to ignore you for long. With all of the national attention I think you have them cornered and they will have to do something. I’m very curious to know why CNN cut short on the online video……

  10. Wow. Its so exciting that you are taking on Kraft and exposing their unsafe dyes in their products and getting exposure on Dr. OZ show and the news. I think it will put the pressure on Kraft to change and make their products without artificial dyes. Great work!! I so admire you both. I have signed that petition.

Once this battle is over we need to light the fire under Monsanto for their GMO seeds and the harm they are doing to humans and animals. Then we need to rally together to get laws passed that require all GMO foods to be labeled as such. I know you are very aware of this and i am willing to help out any way possible.

  11. Personally, I felt the Dr. Oz one was the best! I was disappointed with the CNN interview. I felt the lady was condescending but not in an overt way. Dr. Oz actually cares about the health of our nation, just like you and Lisa! Thank you for what you are doing for ALL of us, even those who are too uneducated to know it.

  12. I didn’t get to see the show when it aired, but seeing the clip from the Dr. Oz show here almost made me cry.
You two are so amazing in leading this revolution!
I got goosebumps thinking about how many people were reached by seeing you on that show and it makes me realize that major change is closer than I had originally hoped.

I am also one of the success stories. My son’s behavior has changed completely in the last 2 months since we eliminated all artificials.

I am doing what I can (on a small scale) to help educate people too. I am just starting to tell my story on a blog that I started only a few weeks ago and you are my inspiration!

    Thanks!

  13. Thank you so much for all that you two do. I thought you were extremely articulate and made excellent points. The advertising point is right on target. They should be ashamed since it’s so obvious that they are making a conscious effort to market those products to children, in spite of the risks. I thought Dr. Oz was awesome. I’ve never watched his show before.

  14. I’ve been following your blog for a while now, awesome to see this type of coverage. Awesome work ladies!!!

  15. way to go, vani and lisa!!! dr oz seemed to be the only one that took you seriously and supported you!

  16. So thankful for all the work you are doing – these videos & interviews are great! You have opened my eyes & changed the way that I buy food and the choices I make for my children’s meals.

  17. Congratulations ladies!! Your efforts to expose the poisons in the ‘supposed food’ of today is admirable! Good job on waking people up to what’s in the ‘food’ they purchase! Take heed, folks,
the food dyes are just the tip of the gigantic processed food iceberg that need to go!

  18. It takes a lot of reservation to not go off on the smug looks you kept getting!! LOL! They are obviously reading from the prompts they were given…….. They are missing the point!
BUT, each interview, and the more people know about it,even ONE parent questioning it makes a difference!! Thank you for making it known, I have signed and shared numerous times! HOORRAH!

  19. You are doing a great job at getting the message out – You are everywhere!!!!

Thank You for all the information you share with us. Because of you, my family is eating healthier… Love your recipe’s

  20. Thank you so much for researching this information. I have a 3 and 5 year old and they love mac n cheese. I will not purchase anything from Kraft until they get on board and promote heathier foods for my children I’m going to empty my cabnets of anything Kraft until they make a change you’ve lost myself as a customer and word of mouth spreads like wild fire and I intend on letting everyone I know.

My five year old has lots of out bursts and eczema
Watching these videos turned on so many lights and connected so many dots

    Thank you!

  21. I think the Dr. Oz one is the best–he treated you with respect and seemed sincerely interested in this issue. Congrats on a job well done to both of you. I feel like I am watching history in the making.

  22. THIS IS SO AWESOME, I COULD JUST CRY!!! I, along with many volunteers of the Feingold Assn. have been educating parents of the dangers of food dyes for over 35 years!! Our organization, along with Dr. Jacobsen, were at the FDA hearings on food dyes and have had to watch as the FDA has done nothing about them. Maybe now, public outcry will change things here in the U.S.! Thank you both for what you are doing & helping to get the word out! For more info on eliminating all artificial additives for better health, behavior & learning, go to http://www.Feingold.org .

  23. Thank you for standing up and speaking out for my health and the health of my children! I have been reading food labels for some time, but this morning I gave my children their favorite cereal “Life” and was nauseated to see yellow #5&6 in the cereal! Why? It is not even yellow?

  24. EXCELLENT job ladies! I personally, no longer purchase ANY Kraft product NONE! They don’t care about the ingredients in their products and I do – so I ONLY purchase products that have ingredients that I know for certain won’t harm my children. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

  25. Vani and Lisa, Many thanks for all that you do, especially with this awesome opporunity to educate the public nationally. Although I would never purchase any Kraft product, much less feed one to my child, your work can now reach the majority of the public who unfortunately don’t have a clue about these issues and trust in the food that they’re offered.

  26. Thank you for what you are doing! I think the problem starts with the FDA. Instead of protecting the people they are allowing this poison to be used by these big conglomerates. Kraft is using the FDA as an excuse to continue using these carcinogenic applications. I think it’s the FDA that you should be petitioning because as long as the FDA says these chemicals are okay , companies will continue to use them. All that matters to these companies is how much profit they can make at the risk of making millions of people sick. What a sad state our world is in, money, money, money, and from what Ive seen I personally do not trust anything the FDA says! Somewhere down the chain I’m sure the FDA is getting paid off to look the other way! 🙁
Look at the GMO situation, how can the FDA allow Monsanto to release this unknown organism and not know the outcome of what it will do to our food chain? $$$$$$$$
It terrifies me to see what people with money can get away with and where is the integrity of our people that are suppose to protect and serve us. Can anyone be bought???????

  27. I definitely enjoyed the Dr Oz interview the best, mainly because he understands the risks involved.
I was enraged by the ignorance you faced on CNN! They clearly are making some sort of revenue from Kraft, I assume via advertisements. And that’s why they deleted a portion of your valid argument.
Keep up the good work!! You two are doing a great job! Even if Kraft doesn’t pull their head out of their butt, getting the awareness out there so that parents can choose a less harmful product would be a great feat! If everyone stopped buying Kraft to boycott, that would send a bigger message to the company set on fiscal entertainment. 🙂 (Hit ’em where it hurts, ladies!!)

  28. You two are awesome! Thank you for standing up for all of us and giving us a voice!

  29. Excellent job, ladies. I was one of the over 200,000 who signed this petition (as, no doubt are so many others who follow your work), and posted the petition to my Facebook wall. Now, the question is, what are we going to do about vaccines? Unfortunately, If you think dyes are the worst of the toxins to which we and our children are exposed, you’ll be horrified to learn what actually goes into vaccines, and how deadly they actually are.

  30. Way to go, ladies! Off the subject a bit, but do you know much about the natural food coloring annatto? My son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts and I gave him a Trader Joe’s organic sucker (annatto is in a lot of organic food options) and he broke out. Only ingredient I could detect that would cause it would be annatto? Apparently the FDA does not classify it as a nut, but we know the FDA doesn’t know everything….

  31. You ladies are awesome!! You did a fantastic job getting the word out and warning families out there that these processed foods can cause tremendous debilitating side affects! I will stay away from ALL Kraft products. The company should be addressing these issues in person! Also, let’s get a statement or representative from the FDA to explain why these dyes are still on the market after so many obvious ailments from them! Dr. Oz was truly concerned about this product and its ramifications. I do hope that he can have you back on the air again with a representative from Kraft. It is this kind of pressure that gets the ball rolling!
I also agree that the lady interviewing you from CNN has her priorities confused! Thank you for this investigation and hang in there! Nancy O.

  32. FoodBabe – you totally rock. Thank you for doing this. I have a mega-reaction to Red40, I just don’t go near anything that has any food dyes in it.

Wholefood, mostly plant-based, no junk. Never felt better.

  33. Wonderful! I am so very happy that someone felt they could challenge the big food companies. The next one is Pediasure nutritional drinks. Our son was recommended to start drinking these drinks to gain weight. We noticed after giving him the strawberry drink, he was a crazy man! We looked at the ingredients and noticed Red #3. We were shocked and the dye they chose to use and of coarse the amount of sugar and chemicals in each of these drinks. We felt bad as parents that we were giving this to him on our Drs. recommendation.

  34. Great job! I agree that the 235,000+ signature givers need to follow up by not purchasing Kraft products, not just Mac n Cheese, until they agree to change. Boycott Kraft! I think you need a big name to go to bat with you. Find an actor / actress, singer, athlete who can be a part of our team! Hollywood is in touch with many lawmakers that may have less flippant attitudes than the reporters at CNN, NBC, etc. Good luck!

  35. I was literally moved to tears by your interview with Dr. Oz. I can’t thank you ladies enough for being a voice for all of us moms who are doing our best to serve our children nutritionally sound food. Having Kraft own up will be the first step in making dramatic changes in what is deemed “acceptable” food additives by the FDA. Even if these dyes did not have adverse affects on our children, why on earth do we need to put petroleum based products in our food. It’s absurd! Lisa and Vani, I admire your passion and hope that you will continue to fight the good fight. You rock!!! (P.S. LOVE your blogs!)

  36. Thank you thank you thank you! You girls are doing amazing work AND making a difference! Thank you for being our voice!! We need to get these dyes out of our all of our foods! I was looking at the bottle children’s tylenol we have and there is even RED 40 in there along with high fructose corn syrup!! Appalling! And shocking that doctors tell you to give this to our kids when they are sick!

  37. I’m very proud of you girls. You did a great job and you were always prepared for every question ;))) They wanted to shut your mouth but you were heard ;D

  38. You two did a wonderful job in those interviews! Thank you for bringing these concerns into light! It is so important to know what you are putting into your body. I think a lot of the U.S. population has decided convenience is more important than nutrition, and unfortunately, they put ingredients in their body that have potentially deleterious effects. So, thank you, for spreading the word. It needs to happen.

  39. I love the courage you ladies have! FINALLY someone speaks the truth about all the poisons in our food. Being an esthetician, I am very into ingredients and how they effect the body. I shared all this on face-book to hopefully enlighten some other people.
