Announcing my first cookbook – Food Babe Kitchen (Cover Revealed)

I went on a live broadcast the other day and dropped a couple hints about what I’ve been working on lately… and yes, the rumors are true!

I wrote my first cookbook – Food Babe Kitchen – and it will be released this October!

Writing a cookbook is something I’ve been dreaming about for a very, very long time. And it’s something that everyone keeps asking for. If you’ve ever wondered what I really eat on a daily basis and how I shop for food, this cookbook outlines it all, step-by-step, with beautiful photography. There’s a picture of every single recipe and never before seen photos of my family and I cooking and enjoying delicious healthy food together. If there is anything that spells out what I’m passionate about… this is it!

This cover is so special to me…

This picture on the cover was taken on a porch just outside my kitchen where we grow vegetables. My husband has an incredible green thumb and takes requests every season to grow the plants we like to eat, in aboveground planters that we fill with organic soil and water with filtered water. Being able to just walk right outside and grab our own homegrown organic produce to make a salad is my dream come true. When we shot the cover of this cookbook, we had an array of the most delicious spicy arugula. It’s so fresh and tastes amazing—even Harley eats it. There’s truly nothing better. It brings me so much joy to be able to share a glimpse of this happiness in my life with you.

  1. is it got plant based diet food in it and congratulations on the new baby that is so sweet

    1. It’s mostly plant based with some meat options. My family eats everything, so I have recipes for all! 🙂

      1. thank you I will get it we are too poor right now but when I start working I will buy it

    2. I have been a supporter of yours for years… I use some of your products currently. These times are tough because our budget has been cut. Any idea if your current subscription holders will get a coupon for this cookbook? Thank you.

    1. Thank you Susan! This book will be so different from my first two – pictures, pictures and more pictures… and an amazing guide how to create a Food Babe Kitchen 🙂

  2. I jumped on the ore-order for your new cookbook. Congratulations! I can’t wait to start cooking Vani style!! What a GREAT picture for the cover.

    1. Thank you Pam for your early support – it means a lot for all book sellers to pick it up to sell it in the fall. Hoping all bookstores will be open by then!

  3. Wonderful! I have been following you for years and have used so many of your recipes. Just pre-ordered my book!

  4. I’m wondering if your new cookbook is oil free recepies? If so I will place my order immediately. If not, I’m not interested and your doing a disservice to the healthy eating community.

    1. It is not oil free – sorry! I use olive oil, grass-fed butter and coconut oil to cook with 🙂

  5. I simply am amazed at the zeal you depict in every action of yours with the goal of healthy eating and living a meaningful life! Being an Indian, a senior up in age found it hard to connect with you, but with the new cook book with many plant based recipes, I think I can be an ardent follower of your blog. I am ordering the cook book and by the way I read both your books with immense interest and learnt a lot.
Thank you and God bless you.

    1. I think you are going to love a recipe my mom contributed – Kale Pranthas! 🙂

  6. Such exciting news!! Love the cover and am too excited about this book!!! Thank you for being such a strong voice in the food industry and for all you believe in!! Excited to get good recipes that are good for you!! ❤️

  7. Congratulations! I love your other books, and I’m sure this will be no exception. Plus, that dress is so cute!

  8. Congratulations! So glad you have gathered recipes for us and I’m really looking forward to trying them out! I have previous recipes books from you that we were able to download. I enjoy many of those recipes. However, I am hoping in your new book you have fewer ingredients in some of the recipes. It isn’t always easy to find some of them.

How fortunate that you can grow your own food. I have attempted a garden but the ground squirrels are rampant here. 🙁

  9. Congrats, Vani! If you ever make a vegetarian or plant-based one (or would be willing to sell that section separately), please keep up posted. I don’t keep anything in our home related to eating animals so it would be wonderful not to miss out on your delicious wisdom. Best wishes!

    1. Agree Kristen! Vani would be an awesome ambassador for animals, our health and planet. I would be so happy for Vegan Vani. But what is nice we can veganize most all of the recipes and I make almond freezer fudge and Gogi Berry cookies from her recipes all the time. So good.

  10. I had too much fun making simple Indian food with my grand daughter; somethings she looks forward to eating!!!! Vani, thanks for your respect for our culture and letting me be the tiny part in your new book. Best wishes
    Mom

  11. I’m so very excited for this! Thank you! Just pre-ordered. I’ve been hoping for years that you would have a cookbook but I always try to search for something made by you already. I would also love to know how your husband grows the garden. In Atlanta, I have a brown thumb!

    1. Looks like a great idea for the next book. I have tried container gardening but it was a failed experiment. Maybe hubby could start his own blog/website, complete with videos! I would be there!

  12. Congratulations Vani! This is exciting news! For those who are already taking issue, i.e., not wanting any oil, not vegan enough,no coconut, etc.etc., you will not find joy neither in this fabulous cookbook, or with any other pleasure in life. But I wish you to look for the best in everything. Embrace life, everyone! We live in challenging times. Blessings to all! xo

    1. Why would we not find joy in life simply because many of us dont wish to support the cruelty and death caused by eating living, sentient beings? I know i find much joy just knowing that i dont contribute to needless death and suffering! And as much as i love Vani and all the work she does to try to better american food markets, i wont support a book that promotes animal cruelty!

  13. I had all but given up thinking the cookbook was coming to fruition. I had requested one from Food Babe (before her first book came out) to make finding the recipes in her monthly collections easier. Someone working there told me it or something like it was in the works, but I never saw anything until now. I am pleasantly surprised! Can’t wait to see it! Thanks!

  14. Thank you so much for writing this cookbook! I love all of your other books and I am excited to see the surprises that this one brings. I love cooking food for my family and my mom is really healthy, and she loves you and your books as well, so I think that she will like this also.
I have a question though, about your garden, what is the arugula called, the one that you showed above. My family is starting a garden, (take #3:) and we kind of would like some ideas for the vegetables for it. Also, do you know any other herbs or veggies that we would need for your recipes that you can grow?
Once again, thank you for everything! (I am one of your biggest fans!:)
    Goodbye!

  15. Hi Vani,
Congratulations on the new book. Wondering if your husband could give recommendations on a water filter for the outdoor hose bib and for favorite potable water safe garden hoses.
    Thanks very much

  16. Would like to order, but are these recipes that were included in previous meal plan subscriptions?

  17. What is there not to love about Vani except the polka dot dress she is wearing on the cover? She is a true American hero and I will definitely be purchasing this cookbook. Long may she expose the lies and deceit that we are forced to live under. I welcome the additions of meat, oil, and anything else that helps make Vani feel and look so good. Congrats on the upcoming baby. Stay safe and keep up the wonderful work.
