I know many of you are watching sports these days where traditional Doritos, Lays and Ruffles are being served but you don’t have to eat those dirty processed chemical filled GMO snacks! There are so many new alternatives brands and organic versions available that you can bring. Although I don’t recommend packaged snacks often – and preach the gospel on whole real foods – if you are going to gather around and watch the big game you’ve gotta have some snacks, right?
Give these organic and non-GMO snacks a try instead…
- Instead of Tostitos – Try Jackson’s Honest Tortilla Chips made with coconut oil!
- Instead of Cheese-Its – Try Annie’s Organic Cheddar Squares or Simple Mills Cheddar Crackers
- Instead of Rold Gold Pretzels – Try Unique Sprouted Wheat Pretzels
- Instead of Lays Potato Chips – Try Brad’s Raw Chips or Jackson’s Honest Chips made with coconut oil!
- Instead of Ritz Crackers – Try Field Day Organics Golden Round Crackers
- Instead of Club Crackers – Try Dr. Kracker Seedlanders or Simple Mills Crackers
Some other favorites:
- Kettle Organic Sea Salt Chips
- Late July Organic Mild Green Mojo Multigrain Chips
- Trader Joe’s Organic Corn Dippers
- Eden Organic Popcorn
- Mary’s Gone Crackers Original
- Late July Organic Sea Salt Multigrain Chips
- Late July Organic Cheese Crackers
- Ak-mak Whole Wheat Crackers
One thing I love about these alternative snack brands, is that they do not contain MSG, an ingredient that keeps you going back for more and more and more. Which is why some of the GMO snack brands like Doritos are so addictive and have become “popular” as a result.
I also put together this collection of my favorite party recipes that will satisfy a crowd for the big day! Hope you enjoy these recipes…

When u suggest alternative items for snacking, it would be sooooo helpful if we knew where to purchase? Thank you!
I included links to online Amazon, but a lot of these alternatives are available at natural food stores like Whole Foods, Earth Fare and some conventional ones too! You can also shop online at Thrive market here (an online discount retailer like Costco!) – http://bit.ly/2l1pFY7

I think it’s great that Chick Filet is closed on Sundays. It gives workers a chance to go to church and spend quality time with their families.

So I clicked on your link for Simple Mills Cheddar Crackers. $16+ for 4x 8oz bags. Really???
Thanks for the ideas and for your voice against GMOs. However, I won’t buy Annie’s products because they are owned by General Mills and I will not support GM.
A few of these are staples in my house- the brownies, sweet potato skins, and pizzas. So easy to make, which I appreciate, being disabled. What I’ve been using the last few times for the brownies (and which my dad keeps requesting) is Artisana organic raw pecan-cashew butter instead of almond butter. It’s *really* good, and has a perfect consistency when baked. I’ve made the sweet potatoes many times for lunch, though I’ve adapted them into a bowl- I chop up the sweet potato and mix it with the other stuff. I have it cooking while getting ready in the morning and take it to work for lunch.
Wow, great stuff.
Yummy 🙂
But do any of these dishes involve “hidden” GMOs??? Please answer.
What are your thoughts about monk fruit sweetener?
Wasn’t Annie’s bought out by General Mills? And isn’t General Mills fighting GMO labeling?
Hey food babe I was wondering if you could please tell me about or do an investigation into my favorite potatoe chips by boulder canyon they claim to have only 3 ingredients avacado oil potatoes and sea salt thank you very much.
I am a flight instructor, and I need healthy snacks to give to pilots- things that are packaged in one serving snack packs, protein a plus! Are there any inexpensive snack packs you can recommend? I want to give them a healthy snack they can have between meals to keep their blood sugar up so they stay alert. It seems that all the traditional snacks are now bio-engineered.
Hi Stephen! I would make my own snack packs. Here are some packaged snack ideas (not just for kids, but adults too), that you can mix and match into homemade snack packs: https://foodbabe.com/over-100-snacks-better-than-goldfish-for-kids/
